Explore the carbon cycle in this hands-on workshop

The Wonder Element allows pupils to explore how the carbon cycle works and how humans have altered the delicate balance through burning fossil fuels. Following a series of videos, pupils will carry out some simple chemical reactions and play games explaining the way that carbon moves around our planet.

This online workshop was delivered in 2021 and 2022 as a Covid-safe version of our Generation Science tour, where kit boxes were sent to schools instead of visiting science communicators. We were able to deliver this experience thanks to the generous support of our funders.

Download the teachers notes and follow along with the videos to deliver the workshop.
