A chance to have a wee bite to eat and meet your fellow delegates, along with key members of the team. We’ll be explaining your schedule, and giving a brief introduction to the Festival and our annual programme.

Workshop (2 – 1pm)

An interactive workshop based around creating amazing science-themed events.

Guest Talk (3.30 – 4.30pm)

Details to be announced closer to the time, but a special guest – who features as part of our programme – will be delivering an exclusive talk for our delegates.

Evening Event (6 – 8.30pm)

Our programme is yet to be announced, but delegates will receive free tickets to one of our celebrated adult evening events.

Morning Walk (10 – 11.30am)

Start your day in Holyrood Park with an outdoor education specialist. We’ll be walking and chatting about bringing engagement outside, and what happens when you connect people to nature.

Discussion Session (12 – 1pm)

A discussion session with industry experts.

Growing Home tour (National Museum of Scotland) (1 – 1.30pm)

A guided tour around our signature exhibition, Growing Home: A New World of Materials, with a chance to find out more about how we work with partner venues such as the National Museum of Scotland.

An Introduction to Cross-Cultural Work (3 – 4pm)

Edinburgh is a Festival City, which means there are lots of examples of cross-cultural work. We’ll be joined by experts who’ll be talking about how to bring music, theatre and storytelling into your science communication work.

Hosting Workshop (4.30 – 5.30pm)

A chance to take part in Edinburgh Science’s new interactive workshop, designed to bring out the best event host in everyone! Whether you’re just introducing a speaker, or compering a cabaret, this hour long intro to hosting will set you on the right path.

Evening Event (7.00 – 8.30pm)

Evening Event – Our programme is still being finalised, but you’ll be offered free tickets to one of our award-winning evening events.

Education Brunch (11am – 12pm)

A relaxed morning with our Education team, chatting about our year-round programme working with children and young people.

Tour of City Art Centre (1 – 1.30pm)

A guided tour of our signature family venue, with a chance to see some of the interactive workshops which we’re most known for.

Communicating with Confidence: An Introduction (3 – 4pm)

Communicating with Confidence is our signature training programme, undertaken by thousands of people around the world as preparation for working at a live science event. This hour-long introduction to the course will give you an overview of what we cover, and how we cover it.

NMS Late (7 – 10pm)

End your time on the Delegate Programme in style, with free tickets to our evening event at the National Museum of Scotland.
